Information
and Tours:
Please call the school at 410-242-4100 to request an
information packet and/or to arrange a tour. Tours are
given weekly during school hours from September to mid-May.
During the summer we offer tours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays
and Thursdays between 9 and 2. Interview:
If you would like to continue the enrollment process,
our secretary can set up an appointment for an interview
with our Headmaster and Principal. The Interview takes
approximately 30 minutes. This is an opportunity for
you and our adminstrators to discern if our school
is a good fit for your family and your children.
Testing:
If parents and administrators agree to continue the
enrollment process, the next step is testing, which
is done by one of our classroom teachers.
We
administer the Gesell Readiness Test to incoming Kindergartners.
In February those who have an incoming Kindergartener
are invited to a meeting which gives an overview of
the Gesell Test. Students testing later in the year
will be given a brief overview of the testing at the
time of testing.
There
is a $30 testing fee for each child, which is to be
paid at the time of testing.
Most testing takes 40 minutes for children entering
Kindergarten and 60-120 minutes for those entering
Grades 1-8.
Testing
Results:
We will phone you with results within one week of
testing. After the phone conversation we will mail
you a brief overview of the test results.
Acceptance:
If your child appears to have the necessary skills
and abilities to make a successful transition to our
school we will send you a letter of acceptance with
registration materials.
Some parents
request that their child come to school for a morning
or a day to “shadow” in order to see the
school and to get to know some of the other students.
We prefer to limit visits to students entering Grades
5-8 but are willing to accommodate other grades when
necessary. Call the secretary to arrange this.
